Digg Deap

Journal Entry: Thu Feb 28, 2008, 8:15 AM
Well mates, I am digging deap. My wife and I laid some goals for 2008 and were are pushing toward going indi in the next year or two. I have one company with three/four focuses

So here is what is happening...

We are working the custom wedding invitations like crazy. We have had more contacts then ever and are starting to book. I am praying that the trickle effect will start to gush. Working with brides and grooms is so great because they love design that is different and unique and are ultra open to whatever I propose.

Well, COTL is the parent of it all. I just landed a big local hair school to do a mailer. They love me style and hopefully want me to do everything for them. That would be crazy.

Next, I started screen printing apparel which is fun, takes a lot of time until I can get a conveyor dryer and a 6 color press...but making apparel is too much fun.

So, Justin Owl is the character I created for my clothing line. I have printed three designs and use some pretty sweet processes to get super soft ink and overlay effects and some high mesh screens. It is a learning process and I am glad I haven't had to learn to many things the hard way. My basement spare bedroom has turned into a studio/darkroom/sweatshop. And speaking of which, we have taken a stand to only work with apparel companies which have coporate statements of fair labor or stances against sweatshop forced labor. So...American Apparel, Alternative Apparel and Gildan are our friends because they love people.

Finally, here is a little update, I was filmed back in 2003 for a TV show which features Christian athletes. At the time I was huge into MX and raced. Well, it is looking like the program is going to air on Saturday mornings on Fox E/I programming. here is the website to watch my clip. I am the second link: [link]

Starting Line

Journal Entry: Wed Dec 5, 2007, 9:23 AM
Well I have embarked on a road I have been waiting to take for quite a while...clothing. A friend and I have started Justin Owl Limited with the intention of creating vintage inspired clothing. We have had some fun learning how to print and just completed our first tee...it is a holiday inspired shirt...Holly Joliday!

Well, let me know what you think. We intend to take the character of Justin to levels unthinkable and lots of other secretive ideas.

A few distinctive things we have aimed at is...we only print on fine combed cotton clothing, and two, we only print with soft-hand ink. So there is no hard plastic crap on the tees.

Justin Owl[dot]com [link] is the site. The shirts are only $12. support is welcomed.
